Summer in Croatia – First Stop Rovinj

Teddy in RovinjYou haven’t decided where to go for a summer holiday? Go to Istria, Croatia! Amazing beaches, great excursion potential and a lovely atmosphere. Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea and can be best reached by car from Italy, Slovenia or the Croatian capital Zagreb. Teddy’s hint: if you have to cross the border by car, drive early in the morning or late in the night and don’t forget your Passport. Croatia is an EU-member, however currently not in the Schengen area.

Art in RovinjTeddy’s first stop was in Rovinj, a beautiful old town surrounded by the sea. It was once a part of the Roman Empire and therefore has many magnificent buildings and historical sights to offer. Don’t forget to visit the market with fresh fruits, fish and Mediterranean specialties and take a look at the small artists’ shops. There are some tourist-shops but also lots of really good artists who sell their handcrafted goods. Rovinj is a great city to get into the culture there, but nothing for a beach vacation. Wait until you hear about Teddy’s experiences in Poreč!
